
Janie Osborne is a photographer and writer who explores projects about the mountain West and her home state of Montana.
Recent work has focused on everything from Paramount's filming of "1923" in the mining town of Butte, Montana, to the grit of rural high school girls basketball to destinations untouched by the limelight. No matter the subject, Janie aims to illuminate unseen narratives.
A member of Women Photograph, her work has been featured for 17 years by The New York Times, and also by titles such as The New York Times Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, The Guardian, etc.
Exhibit highlights in 2025 are: inclusion in the AI-AP American Photography's exhibit, the Curated Fridge's Spring exhibit, and Black Box Gallery's "Taking Pictures: 2025 exhibit."
